Student Awards
At Blackwater Community School we are proud of our students and school leavers. There are two main students’ awards events held in our school each year, our Academic Awards in Term 1 and our Achievement Awards in Term 3.
Academic Awards Ceremony
We welcome parents, patrons, staff and school leavers to our annual Academic Awards Ceremony to honour excellent results in the Leaving Certificate State Examinations. This awards ceremony is held in our Cavanagh Auditorium, named in memory of Tom & Marie Cavanagh of TOMAR Trust. During this award ceremony scholarships are presented based on points received in the Leaving Cert and Gold Medals are also awarded for excellence in each subject area. Our Students of the Year from previous school year also receive their awards on this night.

Achievement Awards
In May we host our Achievement Awards where we recognise the achievements of our students in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities throughout the year. Outstanding achievements outside of school are also recognised at these awards. Each year group has its own unique awards ceremony. Our Students of the Year are announced at this event and the overall Student of the Year for each year group receives their award at the Academic Awards Ceremony in Autumn.
