Junior Cycle Results

Well done and congratulations to all students in BCS who received their results last Wednesday. They can be very proud of the work they put in and of the well deserved results.

Scholarship Award

Congratulations to Leaving Certificate student Jack Griffin who was presented with his Entrance Scholarship last week in UCG.

Careers Week

Well done to all students who were involved in last weeks Careers Week in BCS. Junior students designed career posters which went on display throughout the school while researching career opportunities in class online and through video presentations. Senior students attended a Career Talk in the Heritage Centre in Lismore with six guest speakers along with Ms Higgins and Ms Landers outlining various career opportunities to the students. Transition year students gave an insight into varying careers on out intercom each day. On Friday students had great conversations with staff members on their career journeys.

Under 15 Munster Football Final

Our U15 boys headed to Carriganore last Friday playing against Ardscoil na Mara, Tramore in the Munster Final. The Boys gave it all on the day but two goals in the last few minutes edged Tramore ahead , a lead which BCS found it hard to claw back. Tramore emerged winners on a final score of 2 – 16 to 3 – 6.

Schools Debating

We are very proud of Sarah Clohessy (TY) and Ava Dowling (5th year) who represented our school at the Soroptimist Local Public Speaking competition in Dungarvan. Both girls impressed the judges with their speeches on human rights and the empowerment of women. Well done!

BT Young Scientist Exhibition 2023

Well done to seven projects that have qualified for this year’s BT Young Scientist Exhibition in the RDS in Dublin in January.

School Activities this Week

Best of Luck involved in this weeks Geography Week. Good luck also to the Junior and Senior Camogie Teams in their matches this week and to the Minor Soccer and under 15 hurlers on their games this week also.
