Bystander Intervention at BCS
TY and LCA students in Blackwater Community School have chosen to be part of the University College Cork (UCC) pilot Bystander Intervention Programme at second level. This programme provides training and other resources on how to step in, speak up and support others in situations of sexual misconduct and sexual violence.
The aim of the Bystander Intervention Programme is to highlight the danger of normalising and accepting abusive behaviour and through education, inform and empower programme participants to better understand their capacity to intervene as pro-social bystanders.
