We would like to wish our three transition year students Sylvie Topps, Nan Farrow and Karina Hartnett the very best of luck this week as the second year of the Virtual BT Young Scientist takes place online from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th January. The girls worked very hard on their project entitled “Biophilic Classrooms – To Investigate the effects of plants on the concentration and overall performance of secondary school students”. They will represent BCS in the Intermediate section of the Social and Scientific category. The girls submitted a project diary, project booklet and powerpoint presentation for judging along with an overview of their project in a 2 minute recording. The BT portal has gone live for the next three days and the competition entries with a range of other interactive STEM activities which can be viewed at www.btyoungscientist.com
