On Wednesday March 25th, we celebrated 20 years of French exchange with our partner school in Rennes. This exchange began in BCS in 2006 by Ms. Mary Cashman, which she has followed through into its 20th year. The ceremony took place on the campus of Lycée Saint-Martin. Johanna Carr (5th Year) and a French student opened the ceremony with a joint bilingual recitation from the Book of Ecclesiastes (A time for everything). Principals of both schools, Mr. Denis Ring and Monsieur Alain Normant, spoke about the importance of the exchange on both schools and the opportunities it has provided students over the 20 years together. Ms. Abby Wall read a speech on behalf of Ms. Mary Cashman and the French department during this ceremony which captured the essence of what this exchange means to them. Presentations were then made by Mr. Denis Ring, Ms. Abby Wall, and Monsieur Thierry Février (European coordinator), symbolising the unity of both schools. We would like to thank everyone who has been apart of this exchange throughout the years and look forward to the future of the French exchange.
