Each year a group of 5th Years from Blackwater Community School travel to Lourdes as part of the Lourdes Youth to help with the malades. Youth helpers enable people, for whom it would otherwise prove impossible, to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes. During their time in Lourdes the Youth Helpers help with meal-times as well as transport in voitures and wheelchairs to ceremonies and while shopping. But most importantly, the Youth give their time and friendship to others. This is a hugely enriching experience for all that travel.
